Tunney Munney
Not For Sale
April 6th 2007 until...whenever.
Hours Daily, 1 pm - 7 pm
About the Show
None of the pieces in the museum-style exhibition will be for sale, ironic since the show is Tunney's take on what society values as currency. With a Duchampian twist, the artist explores the role of transformation and perception in determining value by converting found objects, garbage and other discarded materials into "Tunney Munney." Although some pieces are monetary representations, Tunney creates his own currency through the paintings, photography and objects featured in the show.
Installing Tunney's latest work is an important step for GalleryBar and its surrounding artistic community. The infectious energy generated by the presence of such a creative force is sure to electrify the blossoming Lower East Side gallery district.
